Here is a list of some of my favorite web design resources in no particular order:
- I learned HTML from Kevin Werbach’s Bare Bones Guide to HTML. It really feels dated now but it still surprisingly useful.
- Since Google accounts for almost 90% of the search engine market, why not go to straight to Google for SEO advice.
- The W3C has a host of useful tools available on its site including the Markup Validator.
- For scripts and code snippets, the CGI Resource Index and PHP Resource Index are useful.
- Of course those gallery’s pale in comparison with WordPress and its many fantastic plugins.
- One of the best places to get started in web design in W3Schools.
- If you need Javascript, Ajax, or DHTML code, the place to go its Dynamic Drive.
- You can save a lot of design time with templates from Open Source Web Design.
- Of course, Google’s Webmaster Tools are invaluable.
- I’ve found a lot of useful code in PHP Builder’s code library.
